“You can’t get any closer to the pulse of development!”

“New technologies have always fascinated me,” says Peter, Founding Partner at Redalpine. “But I am just as interested in entrepreneurial challenges.” Already during his studies, he founded a software company for enterprise software, quickly became market leader and grew to several hundred employees and in 1999 the company was listed on the stock exchange. So Peter knows what it takes to get a startup established. “But I’ve experienced both: booming growth and – after the burst of the dotcom bubble – crisis and failures too.

He then put his experience to work as a business angel. He supported startups, some of which later became world-famous. When he saw how difficult it is for founders to acquire venture capital, he sought suitable partners and co-founded Redalpine in 2006. He has never regretted the decision for a second. “You can’t get any closer to the pulse of development! Many fields are currently changing radically, and we can help shape these changes.” He is inspired by working with brilliant people who are willing to give everything to achieve their lofty visions. Highlights for Peter include the moments when it becomes definite that an idea is working: “Often, we start with just a hypothesis – and all of a sudden we experience the start-up developing into a success story.”

In his rare moments of spare time, Peter enjoys being out on the water – sailing, diving or kitesurfing. “And I also like to unwind with a round of golf with friends.”
