“Being a guide and advisor on legal and business challenges, providing “real world” solutions to complex problems on a daily basis to some of the smartest, most inspirational, people in the industry is highly rewarding.”
Chris is of the opinion that engagement with the tech sector in at least some capacity is now unavoidable for the modern general counsel. For those working in the venture capital and emerging companies spaces, it’s the opportunity to work at the forefront of new cutting-edge technologies in a dynamic and people-driven business. “It’s a great leveler of progress and it’s exciting to think about how it can shape every aspect of the future”. From breakthroughs in everything from digital health and virtual reality to blockchain and robotics the effects of technology are now noticeable across every single sector of the economy. “Sometimes this requires you to be pragmatic and commercially oriented, to step away from the desk for one second in order to get the macro view.”
As General Counsel Chris is responsible for all regulatory and legal matters of Redalpine and its funds.
Chris studied Law at the University of Strasbourg and University of Zurich. After his studies he gained first practical experiences at a Swiss law firm and in the transaction advisory department of management consulting company, before becoming legal counsel of an alternative investment group. Prior to joining Redalpine as General Counsel, Chris helped building up the private markets division at a Liechtenstein-based private bank as a transaction lawyer.
