In pole position: the Carvolution team
It was early 2019 when we led the Series A of a pioneering car subscription company from Switzerland’s upper Aargau region. Since then, a lot has happened: Carvolution, has evolved into a leader within the Swiss market, allowing for flexible car rentals on a monthly basis.
Having experienced sustained growth during the COVID-19 months, the company has now successfully closed a CHF 15m Series C financing round, led by Francisco Fernandez, well-known entrepreneur, and founder of the Avaloq Group, as well as Ringier Digital Ventures, thereby further expanding its leading role in the car subscription market. The investment will be used to advance product development, continue market expansion, and grow the team to meet customer demand.
We at Redalpine are delighted to increase our commitment in this round, which sees Carvolution further strengthening its market position and gearing up for continued expansion. As company CEO Oliver Kofler puts it: "We have already been able to achieve a lot with Carvolution, but we do not want to rest on our laurels. We are pleased to have strong investors at our side who share the same vision."
Following impressive results, the company has successfully positioned itself as a winner within a growth market: Car subscription models are rapidly gaining popularity, offering an alternative to purchase and leasing. Experts forecast a market share of up to 40% for car subscriptions by 2030.
Carvolution is reshaping mobility and offering an alternative to buying and leasing a car with its car subscription. Customers simply select their car online and pay a fixed monthly price that includes all costs except gasoline or charging costs. With total flexibility to change cars, customers are free to return them or keep them indefinitely. A disruptive all-inclusive solution with full service from a single source.
"Our customers particularly appreciate the flexibility, the simplicity and that everything is included for them," says Olivier Kofler, adding that “it’s almost impossible to drive a car for less.“ Carvolution is based in Bannwil, Canton Bern, and currently employs 44 employees.
